THE AMBITION
In an exciting push forward, Built for Collapse has been invited to perform Nuclear Love Affair at the Prague International Fringe Festival this June! So we’re packing up and heading out in 2012 to take the show to Europe. Once we were accepted into the festival this past December, we recognized that this was our chance to really make waves overseas. In the coming months our company will be working hard to secure even more opportunities to perform in Europe this year so that we can really make an impact; not only as a company but also in the promotion of America’s emerging artists and what they care about. Now, as we plan our most ambitious year to date, we need your help more than ever.
We are working non-stop to raise the funds to sustain this exciting momentum. And here’s the big truth of it all: Resourceful as we are, we still rely on your enthusiasm and generous donations to realize our goals. We are driven to make the best work possible by bringing controversial and critical subject matter to the forefront in an artistic way. More importantly, we are determined to find venues in which to share that work with the largest most diverse audience possible. Donating this winter (in the form of a tax deductible contribution) will bring us that much closer to ensuring our continued growth and future!
OUR PLEDGE
Please help us make this vision a reality. Share this, Tweet this, post us on Facebook and DONATE TODAY! In exchange for your contribution and support, you will receive one-of-a-kind perks as listed to the right, as well as our pledge to use all the resources at our disposal to bring this ‘extraordinary tale of victory, hypocrisy and ignorance’ to the widest possible audience. Look below for a breakdown of how money will be spent. Please note: All IndieGoGo donations will go directly towards the “Travel Costs” portion of our budget. Every gift is deeply appreciated. Every gift makes a difference. Every gift is tax-deductible. From everyone in the Built for Collapse family we extend our sincerest “Thank You!!”
THE SHOW
Starring Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplin, Nuclear Love Affair traces the evolution of the American Dream through the social and political chain reaction caused by dropping of the Atomic bomb. Harsh and hysterical, this ‘vision of a world gone wrong’ is ‘an amazing theatrical experience’ that leaves audiences ‘blown away’ (NYTheatre.com).

OUR COMPANY
Built for Collapse is a New York based arts organization dedicated to building multi-disciplinary communal celebrations that apply pressure to traditional theatrical form. Through this process work is created that pushes the limits of what we consider performance and new ways of achieving our artistic vision are discovered. At times an erotic opera, at times a freakish and violent circus, Built for Collapse has been described as a subversive and “creative new approach to theatre.” Built for Collapse was founded by Sanaz Ghajarrahimi and Ben Hobbs in March 2008. Lead Artists: Sanaz Ghajarrahimi, Ben Hobbs, Vincent Santvoord, Emily Brazee, Adam Cochran, Diana Egizi, Eddie Gutierrez, Michael Krass, Sophie Labelle, Room 404 Media (Kate Freer + Dave Tennant), Derek Smith, Jenny Beth Snyder, Elinor Thompson, Colleen Toole and Nicole Weiss.
